Happy ’13!

On this first day of the new year, I’d like to wish you all the very best for it. Joy, peace and this… (that ‘twig’ now lives in my hallway, just so you know). Have fun XXX
 


 

And here are some of my personal highlights of last year, for which I’m very grateful…
 

1. Head-banging to the Bohemian Rhapsody in the first few seconds of the New Year.
2. Speaking (!) at Astrofest and all the lovely people there.
3. Watching Simon Singh fry a gherkin together with Brian (May), at Astrofest.
4. Doing another interview for Dutch television.
5. Doing cool experiments with our students at the open day of the college.
6. Watching ‘Challenge Days’ with my students and the impact it had.
7. Taking up rowing.
8. Presenting Our Documentary.
9. Saying goodbye to my best friend Janey.
10. Taking long walks with mum.
11. My 29th birthday.
12. Getting back in touch with an old friend.
13. Camping in Oxford (in the freezing cold).
14. The Galaxy Zoo meeting Chris had arranged in Oxford.
15. The AOC college reunion.
16. “Dollen in Zwolle” and working hard for the course.
17. Buying Amaretto for a friend and being asked for an ID.
18. Being laughed at by said friend for this fact.
19. Paying a visit to the Little Brown Dog in London.
20. The Queen + Adam Lambert gig in London!
21. Ice-skating (for the first time) in London.
22. Mike’s garden party
23. Erik’s garden party.
24. Collectively watching the Olympics.
25. And tweeting about the awesome ceremonies.
26. My weekend in Amsterdam.
27. The week on Schiermonnikoog island!
28. Catching up with my friend Edith
29. Catching up with my friend Rianne
30. That spontaneous dinner in London.
31. Lecturing at an event in Amsterdam.
32. Lecturing in Oostende, Belgium.
33. And in Dreux, France.
34. Doing a Pecha Kucha presentation in Liège, Belgium.
35. And another one in Maastricht.
36. The many cool books I’ve read this year.

48. All the magnificent views out of train and plane windows.
