One year of…

Informing the whole wide world about Hanny’s Voorwerp. One year of sharing what I’m up to personally and professionally, of getting stuff off my chest and of creativity…

This website went live almost a year ago (‘almost’ as I started writing in November, when I had sorted the domain name, but it wasn’t visible until the end of the year). Anyway, I’ve had a lot of fun working on it. It feels like it’s sort of a diary and although I never ‘did’ diaries before, it’s nice to be able to look things up easily. I also really enjoy writing and publishing pictures I took.

Besides that, it turned out to be a handy place to keep all information about my Voorwerp discovery organised, which is very nice for a structured type like me. And since I know where I put everything, it’s easy to answer people’s questions I get through e-mails. Please do keep sending me those comments. It keeps me on my toes and it’s also good to know others are enjoying it as much as I do.

I’m looking forward to doing this for a lot more years. Especially since I know there are still some exciting things going to happen around my dancing frog in the sky! After a year of looking at this header now below, I decided it was time for a bit of a make-over though. Mainly because I wanted to visualise in the header more what this site is about. My special thanks goes to my ‘designer in crime’, Graham, for putting up with me. I think he’s almost able to read my mind as he translates comments like “I want it to have more pink, without it having so much… pink” into something pretty. Also thanks for making it appear to Edd and all others credited at the bottom of this site. So… what do you think?

I love the new header, Hanny. It does exactly what you said, shows more of what the site is actually about. Well done with your first year, I hope to be visiting this site in many years to come. I always enjoy reading your updates. And you have a way to make me smile with your humour.

    Best wishes
    Tommy

Hanny, congratulations with the site’s new appearance. Looks great. Graham has done a great job for you. Mmmmm, WordPress, isn’t it. ;-)

Wowie, so there’s a whole team behind Hanny’s site? Jealous! I wanna team too. ;-)

Yep, I’m very lucky! But to explain: everything on this website is me, Hanny. (Except for the guest blogs of course). I get a lot of support from Graham though, who has his own company in designing and hosting websites (see link at the bottom of the page). He hosts this and also proofreads my stories, to point out possible spelling or typing errors. Besides that, he put the header together! Though that was a lot of work and I’m assuming I was the most demanding ‘client’ ever, the design was mostly my own idea. Then there’s Edd, who takes care of the technical side of things, i.e. is a genius at those dificult codes. He actually put the header on here and made sure the archives have those nice arrows, for instance. He’s always around in case something breaks, in other words. So yes, I couldn’t (and wouldn’t want to) do it without them and am therefore very grateful! But contentwise, I’m fully responsable. There’s also nobody else who’s reading e-mails sent to me or anything. ;) Hope that explains it.

Yes, I do Like the new header!!
But what I even more appreciate is that the pleasant philosophical content has remained at its ever so familiar high level!
No change or upgrade needed in that department!!
    Greetings from a devoted reader
