Yeah, kind of weird title but, it’s apparently part of being a Voorwerp-discoverer. There even seems to be an (unofficial) fan page about, well, me. Nothing serious as I recall, but my students pointed it out to me one day. When I did the first set of interviews back in 2008, I googled to see on how many foreign sites the word ‘Voorwerp’ had been mentioned. Now my students google me frequently (if only to ask whether every guy I’m in a picture with is an ex-boyfriend – sigh). There are also people who (knowing where I work) have sent actual letters via snail-mail, to say hi pretty much. And although it still amazes me, I kind of get it.
And in all seriousness, I do want to say THANK YOU to everybody for taking the trouble to let me know you find my story inspiring (or for just saying hi) – it’s much appreciated!
