The arrival of the comic

It’s been a while since we had proper news about Hanny’s Voorwerp, but behind the scenes lots of stuff has happened! And although I still can’t spill all the beans, I think it’s time for an update of some sort.

First of all: no, I didn’t forget the competition we held, back in September. After the launch of the comic, for which I got up in the middle of the night, I did receive one copy of it myself (to show on national TV), but I think I need to go to the US to arrange the others. I will keep nagging the makers of it, until I do get them, in any case. So the winner of the competition will still get a signed copy!

And secondly, I gather they are still working on our comic website. It has a place on my site here as well, as I want to make it easy for you readers to find the place where you can read the comic online and where you can order your copy. They also have promised me they are going to rectify the fact they forgot to mention me as a co-author, on the site and on future prints, and I’d like to thank everyone who’s sent me supportive messages about it from here again too.

Then the only thing left I can say is… keep watching this space. I expect some exciting things happening very soon! Really. For now, here’s a picture of the launch party. You can see line artist Elea Braasch, colourist and letterer Chris Spangler, the person in charge of this project Pamela Gay and I am present on the big screen in the background. It was fun. And if you’ve missed it, you can still see it on the video as well.

That’s it, for now.
